Herbal Diets
“When the heart blossoms, the rest of the body flourishes.” - Maestro Juan Flores
Herbal remedies, which include plant and tree bark decoctions, support the body, mind, and spirit in finding balance and harmony. In herbal diets, we use an indigenous way of working with plant remedies that typically involves ingesting one herb at a time while following a cleansing diet for a certain period, from 8 days to several months. During this time, we also engage in counseling sessions and a regular practice for inner reflection.
In indigenous traditions, herbs are not just chemical supplements to aid the body, but they are intelligences on their own that support our whole being. That is to say, that these herbal remedies impact cleanse, balance, and restore the physical body, and at the same time impact the psychological and spiritual levels.
For some, the herbal diet is a way to connect with the healing intelligences of nature through dreamtime, meditation, and intuition. Through this, one can deepen one’s relationship with nature and learn its wisdom. Indigenous healers have long considered the essences of these plants and trees to be teachers and masters.
